Get Wheel Driving – Instructor Training Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all in-car training sessions delivered to Potential Driving Instructors (PDIs) and ADI candidates by GetWheel Driving. Please read them carefully before beginning your training.

1. Bookings & Payments
All sessions must be paid for in advance or at the start of the session, unless otherwise agreed.
Block bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking and are valid for six (6) months from the date of purchase.
Any unused sessions after this period are non-refundable.
Training sessions are non-transferable and must be used by the original purchaser.
Prices may change, but reasonable notice will be given before any increase takes effect.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
Sessions cancelled by the instructor will be rebooked at no cost to you.
3. First Session Requirements
You must present a valid UK driving licence at your first in-car training session.
An eyesight check will be carried out before any practical driving begins:
– For general training and fitness to drive, you must be able to read a number plate at 20 metres.
– For ADI Part 2 preparation, you must meet the DVSA test standard and be able to read a number plate at 27
metres.
Failure to meet eyesight or licence requirements may result in the session being postponed, and the session fee
may still apply.
4. Vehicle Use
Training may take place in either the instructor’s dual-controlled vehicle or your own, provided it is roadworthy,
taxed, MOT-compliant, insured for tuition use, and fitted with dual controls and L-plates where required.
You are responsible for ensuring your vehicle meets these standards before each session.
Get Wheel Driving cannot be held liable for loss, damage, or injury resulting from the use of a PDI’s own vehicle.
5. Fitness to Drive & Conduct
You must arrive in a fit condition to drive — free from alcohol, drugs, or any medication that may affect your ability to
drive safely.
Appropriate footwear and clothing should be worn.
Sessions may be stopped immediately if your instructor deems it unsafe to continue.
Respectful and professional behaviour is expected at all times.
It is the trainee’s responsibility to maintain a valid trainee (pink) licence. Sessions cancelled or lost due to an expired
licence are non-refundable.
6. Training Content & Structure
Training sessions are tailored to your individual goals and may include ADI Part 2 driver development, ADI Part 3
instructional development, or mock test practice.
Your instructor may adapt the lesson plan or route if conditions change or to ensure safety.
Part 2 training focuses on advanced driving skills and risk awareness.
Part 3 training develops teaching and coaching skills aligned with the DVSA Standards Check competencies.
Mock sessions may include demonstration lessons, role-play, or observation of real pupils.
The trainer may intervene at any time to maintain safety or to illustrate best practice.
7. Feedback & Recordings
Training includes structured feedback, mock assessments, and reference to DVSA competencies (Lesson Planning,
Risk Management, and Teaching & Learning Strategies).
Training sessions may be audio- or video-recorded for feedback and professional development.

Recordings & Media Consent:
– Recordings are stored securely and remain confidential unless explicit consent is provided for wider use.
– With the trainee’s written or recorded consent, footage or excerpts may also be used as part of Get Wheel Driving
course materials, demonstration videos, instructor training, or live/recorded Zoom sessions.
– Consent may be withdrawn at any time, after which recordings will no longer be used in future materials.
– No personal information will be shared publicly without permission, and any identifying details can be removed if
requested.
8. ADI 21AT (Trainee Licence) Training Hours
All training hours recorded toward the ADI 21AT (trainee licence) must be completed in accordance with DVSA
guidelines.
To count toward the official training requirement, these hours must be accurately logged on the official ADI 21AT
training declaration form and completed within the first three (3) months of the trainee licence period.
It is the trainee’s responsibility to ensure all completed hours are correctly recorded and submitted to the DVSA.
Any hours completed outside this three-month window, or that do not meet these conditions, will not be accepted by the DVSA as valid training hours.
9. DVSA Responsibilities
It is the trainee’s responsibility to book ADI Part 2 and Part 3 tests directly with the DVSA and ensure all required
forms are completed correctly.
Get Wheel Driving provides training and guidance but is not responsible for test availability or administrative issues.
10. Conduct While on a Trainee Licence
PDIs training under a DVSA trainee licence (ADI 21AT) are expected to maintain the same professional standards
required of a fully qualified ADI.
Conduct must reflect positively on both Get Wheel Driving and the wider driving instruction profession.
Examples of conduct unbecoming of a driving instructor include, but are not limited to:
– Inappropriate, discriminatory, or offensive behaviour.
– Allowing unsafe or illegal driving practices.
– Misrepresenting qualifications, experience, or association with Get Wheel Driving.
– Failing to maintain a professional appearance, punctuality, or respect toward pupils and colleagues.
– Breaching data protection, confidentiality, or consent requirements.
– Any behaviour that could bring the profession, Get Wheel Driving, or the DVSA into disrepute.
Get Wheel Driving reserves the right to withdraw training support or terminate any training agreement immediately
in cases of serious or repeated misconduct.
The DVSA may be notified if conduct breaches trainee licence conditions or raises fitness and propriety concerns.
11. Liability & Insurance
While every effort is made to ensure safety and professionalism during training, Get Wheel Driving cannot accept
liability for mechanical failure, loss of earnings, property damage, or personal injury, except where caused by
proven negligence of the instructor.
Get Wheel Driving holds appropriate public liability insurance; trainees are responsible for ensuring their own
vehicle insurance covers in-car training.
12. Data Protection & Complaints
Personal information is held securely and used only for booking, training records, and progress tracking.
Information will not be shared with third parties without your consent.
Any concerns should be raised with your instructor first. If unresolved, contact team@getwheeldriving.com and it will be reviewed promptly.
Note: These Terms & Conditions form part of Get Wheel Driving’s professional training policy and apply to all in-car instructor development sessions, including ADI Part 2 and Part 3 training.
