Last updated: 6 October 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Get Wheel Driving (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your
personal information when you use our website, online courses, in■car training, or driving■school
services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data fairly, transparently, and
securely.
1. Who We Are
Get Wheel Driving is a UK■based driving■instructor training provider offering online courses, in■car
instruction, and related educational materials. We also provide driving■school services to learner drivers.
Contact: team@getwheeldriving.com. We act as the data controller for the purposes of UK
data■protection laws.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect: • Contact details (name, email, phone). • Account information (usernames, passwords,
course or booking details). • Payment details processed via trusted third■party providers (we do not store
card data). • Course usage data (progress and interaction). • Communications (emails or messages). •
Marketing preferences (opt■in/opt■out). • Technical information (IP, browser, cookies – see Cookies
Policy). • If you are a learner driver or take in■car training, we may also collect lesson booking details,
progress notes, and—where necessary for safety—limited health or accessibility information. • For pupils
under 18, limited parent/guardian contact details for scheduling and updates.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use personal data to: • Provide access to online courses and digital content. • Arrange, manage, and
deliver in■car training and driving lessons (including communicating with pupils and parents/guardians
where appropriate). • Process payments and maintain accounting records. • Provide customer support and
respond to enquiries. • Send optional marketing communications (only if you have opted in). • Improve our
services and website performance. • Comply with legal or regulatory obligations. Our lawful bases include
consent, contract, and legitimate interests.
4. How We Share Information
We may share limited personal data with: • Website/hosting providers (e.g., Wix, video hosting). • Payment
processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). • Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics, Wix Analytics). •
Email/communication tools for support and updates. • Professional advisers or legal authorities where
required by law. Where driving lessons are delivered by franchised instructors, we will share only the
information necessary to provide tuition. In limited cases, dashcam footage may be shared between
instructors, trainers, and Get Wheel Driving for training or quality■assurance purposes, but only with the
consent of those recorded and in compliance with UK data■protection law. We never sell or rent your
data.
5. Marketing Communications
We will only send marketing or promotional content if you have actively opted in. You can unsubscribe at
any time using the link in any email or by contacting team@getwheeldriving.com. Opting out of marketing
will not affect service or booking communications.
6. Analytics & Cookies
We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics and/or Wix Analytics) to monitor website performance
and improve user experience. These tools collect aggregated information such as page visits, device type,
and general location data and do not identify individual users. For more information or to manage
preferences, see our Cookies Policy.
7. Affiliate Links
Some pages may contain affiliate links (for example, links to products on Amazon). If you click an affiliate
link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links
help support the running of Get Wheel Driving.
8. Future Course Platforms
If you access training through a third■party course provider in the future, your data may also be processed
by that provider in accordance with their privacy policy. We will ensure any platform partners are
GDPR■compliant and operate to UK standards.
9. Data Security
We store personal data securely using password■protected systems and encrypted connections. Access
is restricted to authorised personnel. We review our security practices regularly to protect your information.
10. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary: • Course/account data – up to 12 months after access ends. •
Payment/financial records – 6 years (legal requirement). • Emails/correspondence – normally 12 months
unless required longer by law. • Lesson notes and pupil progress – up to 12 months after the final lesson.
11. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you may: • Access the personal data we hold about you. • Request correction or deletion
of inaccurate or outdated information. • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. • Object
to processing or request restriction. • Request data portability. To exercise your rights, contact
team@getwheeldriving.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at
www.ico.org.uk.
12. International Transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the UK (e.g., cloud storage or content delivery). Where
this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in line with UK data■protection standards.
13. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience and analyse website traffic. For
details and controls, please see our Cookies Policy.
14. Learner Driver Data (Driving School Services)
If you book or receive driving lessons, we may collect your name, contact details, lesson history, and
relevant safety information. For pupils under 18, we may collect limited parent or guardian contact details.
Where lessons are delivered by franchised instructors, your information will be shared with them solely to
provide tuition. Lesson■related data is retained for up to 12 months after the final lesson.
15. Dashcam Recordings (All In■Car Training &
Lessons)
Some in■car sessions—including instructor training, mock tests, and learner lessons—may be recorded
using dashcams for safety, insurance, or training purposes. Dashcam footage may capture video, audio,
locations, and vehicle registration details. Recordings are stored securely by the instructor or trainer and
deleted after a reasonable period unless required for insurance, complaint investigation, or instructor
development. Short clips may be used for feedback or training within the Get Wheel Driving network, but
only with the consent of those recorded. Instructors using dashcams must display in■car notice that
recording is in progress and comply with UK GDPR for handling recorded data.
16. Use of Footage for Social Media
Some instructors may wish to share anonymised training clips for educational or promotional purposes.
This will only take place with the explicit, written consent of anyone identifiable in the footage. Any shared
content must comply with UK data■protection law, avoid personal identifiers (such as faces, voices, or
number plates) unless consented to, and must not cause harm or embarrassment. Get Wheel Driving does
not publish or share lesson footage without consent and is not responsible for content shared
independently by franchised instructors.
